Three Card Poker

What is Three Card Poker Game?

The game is played with a single deck of 52 cards. Three Card Poker is actually two games in one. There is the Play/Ante game where you are playing against the dealer to see who has the highest hand. There is also the Pair Plus game where you are wagering on whether or not you will be dealt a pair or better. In most casinos, you can bet on either of the games but some casinos require you to make an Ante Bet in order to bet the Pair Plus portion of the game.

Three Card Poker is becoming one of the most popular new table games. Players are discovering that Three Card Poker is not only easy to play but it is a lot of fun.

When Three Card Poker Started?

The casino variant of Three Card Poker was first created by Derek Webb in 1994 and patented in 1997. Webb's goal was to create a version of poker that played with the speed of other table games.  안전놀이터  It was important to Webb that he got the correct mix of three important factors for any casino game: the game rules were easy to understand, the payouts were large enough to attract players, and the house edge was enough that casino owners would be interested in adopting the game.

How to Play?

1. Select the poker chips and then click on the desired bet area on the table.

2. After placing the bet, the player is dealt with three cards face up and the dealer with three cards face down.

3. The player has the option to fold the hand or raise if he thinks he can beat the dealer's poker hand.

4. If the player folds, he loses his ante bet.

5. If the player raises, then an additional Play bet is made equal to the Ante bet and the dealer reveals his cards.

6. The dealer qualifies only if he has Queen High or better.

7. If the dealer doesn’t qualify, player wins 1 to 1 on Ante bet and Play bet will push.

8. If the dealer qualifies, the higher poker hand between the player and the dealer wins.

- If the player wins, he will get 1 to 1 on both Ante and Play bets.

- If the dealer wins, player loses both the Ante and Play bets.

- In case of a tie, Ante bet and Play bet will push.

9. If the player has a Straight Poker Hand or higher, then he receives an Ante bonus.

10. The Pair Plus bet wins if the player's hand has a Pair or higher.

11. The 6-Card Bonus bet wins based on the highest 5-card hand that is made out of player’s and dealer’s 6 cards combined.

12. Payouts for Pair-Plus and 6-Card bonus bets are based on the rank of the hand.

Strategy of the Game:

Three Card Poker has a relatively small house edge, usually around 3.3 percent. If you play optimally, that is.

This edge can increase significantly with side bets or incorrect strategy.

To avoid this, follow a couple of simple Three Card Poker strategy tips:

1. Don’t Make The Pair Plus Bets

Betting on the pair plus increases the house edge by more than 2.3 percent.

It is tempting with big payouts (e.g. straight flush pays 40 to 1) but you’re bound to lose more making this bet even if you have a rare bigger payout from it.

So, forget about the times you could have won a big payout when you've not placed a pair plus bet. Simply try to play in a way that minimizes the house edge.

2. Remember One Strategic Combination of Cards

It’s not only the Three Card Poker rules that are easy to learn. So is the Three Card Poker strategy.

You only need to remember one combination of cards and base your decision to call or fold on it:

  • Call with  or higher hand
  • Fold everything else
